Tan Hoa A which is in Tieu Can District, Tra Vinh Province, Mekong Delta of Vietnam, is a primary school in SCC’s 2008 supporting plan. Through Asian Education and Friendship Association (AEFA), Ginga Network Group from Japan did provide the funds of US$ 33,000 for the project of building three classrooms, one library and providing scholarships for 52 disadvantaged children, carrying out friendship exchange activities at Tan Hoa A.
On July 28th 2008, the Ground Breaking and Scholarship Delivery Ceremony was successfully held with the attendance of the district level authorities, teachers, children, SCC’s representatives, especially Mr. Sumio Ishii – Chairman of Ginga Network Group and his staffs and members from AEFA who have flown to Vietnam for the ceremony.
The construction of building three classrooms and one library was really commenced, it is supposed to be finished by mid December and put into use for school teachers and 139 children aged 6-11 in the second course of school year 2008-2009.
At the ceremony, all delegations together with SCC delivered scholarships for 52 disadvantaged children at Tan Hoa A. The Chairman of AEFA, Mr. Hiroshi Tanikawa together with the School Director, Mr. Tran Van Lam did sign in the agreement for friendship exchange activities between Tan Hoa A and a sister school in Japan, Koonitachi Dainana. All the children were extremely anxious and excited to welcome the delegations. All of them and their parents as well as the school teachers and local authorities are looking forward to the new school to be opened in December. Ginga Network Group and AEFA are looking forward to visiting the school again on the Opening Ceremony of this school. SCC is working hard with the school construction to ensure it has good quality. |
