3rd Annual Saigon Summer Ball –
another great success!
The 2011 Saigon Summer Ball, organized on 3rd June, was truly a memorable evening. Guests were treated to a delicious 5-course dinner and the champagne, wine and cocktails flowed throughout the night. One highlight of the evening was the lively auctioning of a classic Vespa Super 150 – the excitement in the room was high as guests scrambled to place their bids for this 1960s model scooter. The classic Vespa, generously donated by Mr Stephen Curran raised 5.000 USD and made the night especially exciting for Nam Nguyen who had the winning bid. There was also a silent auction with items to suit a variety of tastes, including art, antiques, and holiday packages. The top offering, a complete holiday package including a three nights’ stay at The Six Senses Con Dao, two roundtrip tickets to Con Dao on Air Mekong and a Dive Package from Rainbow Divers for two people, went for 3.100 USD. With the live and silent auctions raising a total of 14.160 USD, they were an undeniable success!
Another exciting part of the programme were the raffle draws, where lucky guests won coveted prizes including weekends away, dinners at some of Saigon’s top restaurants, spa packages and other great prizes. The raffle was followed by dancing and live music from Juram, and guests stayed and danced until the early hours of the morning to music from DJ Kenzo.
Saigon Children’s Charity would like to thank all the sponsors, donors and guests for supporting the Saigon Summer Ball 2011. This year's Saigon Summer Ball has officially raised more than 45,000 USD and the proceeds from the event will contribute to the educational programme of Saigon Children's Charity.
