Goodbye from Tran Vu Ngan Giang

Goodbye from Tran Vu Ngan Giang, former Head of Programmes

Dear supporters, partners, friends, and all SCC family members,

Time seems to have flown quickly and I am sad writing to say "goodbye" to all of you as I am leaving SCC after a journey of nearly eight years. Every day with SCC has been the happiest and most meaningful time to me: seeing the children grow, some become young people, finishing their studying, getting more confident entering work and being able to earn an income, and some getting married too! All those are the most amazing things I have been so lucky to experience. I would like to THANK all donors, partners, and friends for your continuous support to SCC, which has brought me and my devoted colleagues the opportunity to bring hopes to the disadvantaged children and young people. To the children, students, and parents: it was my privilege to work with you, all your non-stop efforts to overcome all barriers to keep on your studying and live your lives have been a great motivation and inspiration for me; THANK YOU, and please keep up all your hard work!

I am happy on the other hand because one of my trusted managers, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duy Huong, is taking over me as the new Head of Programmes. Huong has been working with me for more than four years and I have always been impressed with and grateful for her contributions in developing the young people with vocational training skills and employment placement. There are still huge needs for education support at grassroots level, especially in the areas where SCC is operating; there are also a lot of areas that SCC realises we need to improve, and I am confident that my successor will refresh our programmes and together with the team here, they will continue to ensure your investment makes a significant impact on the lives of thousands children and young people in Vietnam.

For those who might like to know, I am taking the leadership role at a Vietnamese non-profit organisation called LIN Center for Community Development which works to help local people address local needs through connecting resources, providing consultations to donors, and supporting the development of local non-profit organisations. Wherever I am, SCC has been and will always be a huge part of my life, and I will continue to support SCC and the people it serves with all my abilities and availability.

Thank you again for the memorable experience working with you. And thank you for your continued support to SCC as well as to my successor for many years to come. Goodbye and hope to see you around!
