The leader of this conference came from a specialist organisation called TGM Group. The conference was designed to help the students recognize the right job for them, to know how to establish the right motivation for study and to know how to apply efficient study methods. One of the students from Thang Long School said: “I feel so comfortable participating in this class. It helps me have vocation guidance for my future. The teacher is so enthusiastic and happy with us. I hope we can have more useful class like this”.
- OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE WORKING KNOWLEDGE
15 students from the hairdressing class at Thang Long School had the chance to exchange knowledge and learn practical skills from a professional hair stylist here in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr Nghia – head of Jimmy Le hairdressers – visited and demonstrated a real hair cut under close observation from the students. He taught well and really put his whole-heart into every act as well as helpfully responding to every question the young students had. He also shared which techniques are required to become a professional hair stylist. Besides the theory classes and practical classes in school, this is one of the many activities which is organized to help support and enhance the quality of the beauty class.
- TALISMAN – NOT ONLY A SPONSOR
After the success of the 9th Saigon Hospitality class, Talisman confirmed they would continue to fund the work and continue as sponsor for the 10th class! After working with the class over the last year or two, Talisman have developed a great understanding of the work and about the difficulties in the young people’s lives too. To develop this understanding further, a few people from Talisman joined SCC for a day to meet students and find out more about their family’s situation as well as to share and support them. The deep interest along with the sentiment of every one will help the students have motivation to overcome the difficulty to study better.
- KEEP CHILDREN WITH A DISABILITY SAFE – A LONG TERM ROAD
SCC often organises practical workshops and conferences for children with a disability on the subject of general health, as well as reproductive and sexual education. However, applying this knowledge and helping with the prevention of sexual assaults of children remains still so difficult.
In the latest external and practical conference, a group of special volunteers pretended to be strangers and they found that were easily able to convince the children to follow them. Almost all of the children did not take proper precaution of strangers. They easily trusted people and believed the lovely words that were said to them. Therefore, the current round of health education work will focus on providing comprehensive and comprehensible knowledge and technical practice to help these childen with disabilities to protect themselves.
