Charity Cycle adventure 2014: HUE – HOI AN (28 – 30 November 2014)
Saigon Children’s Charity cordially invites cyclists to be part of the upcoming Charity Cycle Adventure which will feature a three day cycle ride across some of Vietnam's most beautiful scenery.
The three-day, 300 km ride starts from Hue’s local villages and continues to Lang Co, before climbing up the challenging but beautiful Hai Van Pass. The final stretch of the trip is past the UNESCO-listed Cham Temples of My Son before reaching the finish at Son Tra peninsula. My Khe beach will welcome riders at the finish line with a BBQ party, where team celebrations will replace sore legs and sun-burnt necks with a real sense of achievement.
In addition to the registration fee of US$560 covering all cost for the ride (subject to change if applicable), riders are asked to get their network behind them and fundraise a minimum of US$500 which will go directly to support the children that we work with at SCC. “Sài Gòn - The Future” - Photo book project 2014
Amongst the many activities SCC is able to offer, some of the youngsters have and have had the chance to explore their imagination and work creatively often for the first time through art and through photography. As a result SCC has amassed a large collection of photos taken by the children over the years of operation. This book is a collection of some of the best photos, and they will give you an insight into their unique perspective as children as well as their hopes and dreams for the future.
100% of the profits from the book will go towards creating a better future for disadvantaged children in Vietnam. It will be a perfect gift for Christmas and Tet (besides our greeting cards) to your partners and loved ones. Credit Suisse Singapore’s Challenge Day 2014
Over 3 days (from 14th to 16th of August), Credit Suisse staff members enjoyed their time on an SCC Challenge Day that we had put together for them at Hieu Trung B primary school in Tieu Can Ward, Tra Vinh Province. The school had recently been built with 3 new classrooms and 1 playground through donations from staff at Credit Suisse and also supported by funds raised by the 2013 Charity Cycle Adventure riders.
This was their 5th volunteering trip over the past 5 years with us in Vietnam. The atmosphere became more fun and exciting when some students living around the school came and helped them with some of the simpler tasks such as cleaning tables and chairs, the floors, and sweeping. Everybody worked very hard and did not mind either the heat or dust!
Three days of volunteering in Tra Vinh left all the members of Credit Suisse with a lot of emotions. Moreover, the trip was an opportunity for all members to experience the positive changes they had bought to the school as well as the children in difficult circumstances whose school life will be that much happier as a result of what they have all done together.
