School Building and Learning Environments

New schools are getting ready for the new school year 2014-2015.
After preparing for a long time, in the 2nd quarter of 2014 SCC was happy to lay the first bricks in  the construction of kindergartens and primary schools. These schools are on target to be completed before the start of this next school year 2014-2015 which strats in September.
We would like to thank the commitment of the supporting and developing community from Prudental Life Insurance company, ANZ Bank, Credit Suisse Singapore, The Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, Shared Smile Japan Organisation, AEFA Japan Organisation and the volunteers of the Charity Cycle Adventure 2013. Because of their support, we have kicked off the construction of 6 kindergartens and 6 primary schools. They accounted for a total of 39 classrooms in Trà Vinh province, Hậu Giang province, Kiên Giang province and Ca Mau province.

Together with the companies, organisations and donors (domestic and international), the local government and people have made many meaningful contributions to the project as well. a nice example was Mrs. Tư who was living in Phương An B hamlet, Phương Phú ward, Phụng Hiệp district, Hậu Giang province. When she discovered that Prudential and SCC would build 2 new classrooms in place of  the current degraded ones, Mrs Tư  convinced her family members to donate the land. She hoped that with the new school, local children would have a good and friendly environment to study in.

These nice actions are worth encouraging and promoting in order to build a safe and friendly education environment for Vietnamese children in difficulties.
Over the  coming months, good quality schools with a full range of functions, equipment and learning toys for children will replace old and degraded schools which were very dangerous. In the next newsletter, we look forward to displaying joyful pictures of children when they are studying and playing in cool and clean classrooms; parents will be convinced to send them to school; and there will be no children who could not go to school due to the lack of classrooms.
Along with the school building part this year, the School Building and Learning Environment team is also looking for other schools that are in need of rebuilding.

All donations are always welcomed to contribute and support children to have a safe and friendly learning environment; in order to help them have a chance to study like other children; thereby, we can reach toward a higher goal “Eliminating poverty through education”.
Join hands with us, even to supply one brick, to help build a safe and playful learning environment for children in disadvantaged areas!
